The Process

  1. Order your firearm, designating Texas Legends in Allen, TX as your local FFL Dealer
    2. Your Seller will Need
    • Our FFL License - which they can request by emailing ffl@texaslegendsguns.com

      • We only send our FFL License to other FFLs

    • Our Physical Address

    3. Your Seller Ships the Firearm to us
    • They should include in the box a copy of their FFL and the customer contact information
    4. We receive the firearm
    • Typically between 1 and 6 PM excluding Sundays
    5. We process the firearm into our FFL Acquisition and Disposition books
    • Typically takes 2-4 hours, but can be up to 48
    6. We will call you when your order is ready for pickup!
    • If voicemail box is full, there is a spamblocker, or voicemail is not set up, we will attempt to email if we have an email address on file, or if it is included with the firearm
    • Please use personal phone lines, not office or business numbers
    7. Upon Arrival, notify Range Staff that you have an FFL transfer to pick up
        You will need a valid photo ID and proof of Texas Residency
      • A valid Texas Driver's License serves as both
          • Residency can be verified ONLY using government issued documents, which must:
      • Contain a name that matches your photo ID
      • A complete Texas address
      • No PO boxes
      • Be issued by a city or state government
          • Examples
        • City Water/Utility Bill (NOT an apartment or neighborhood issued bill)
        • Texas Motor Vehicle Registration (NOT a renewal notice)
        • Voter Registration
    8. Fill Out a ATF 4473 Firearms Transaction Record
        This includes a NICS (National Instant Criminal Search) background check
      • A Texas License to Carry with address matching proof of TX residency can be used in lieu of NICS check
      • Texas Legends reserves the right to conduct a NICS background check at any time during the 4473 process
      • NICS checks can take 15-45 minutes to return either Proceed, Deny, or Delay
          • If delayed, the firearm can be released to you after 5 BUSINESS days
        • Business Days exclude federal and state holidays and weekends
        • The first day a NICS check is submitted is Day 0
    • Individuals under 21 must undergo a mandatory 10 business day waiting period
    • Individuals returning to complete a 4473 on a day other than the initial day must re-certify that the form is still true
  9. Pay the transfer fee and receive your Transfer Out Receipt
  10. Take Home your Firearm! Bring it back to shoot with us!

  2. Fill out our form in-store
    3. Shipment
    • We will exchange and verify FFL dealer licenses
    • We will package firearm if no package is provided
    • Tracking information will be emailed to you!
    We do NOT ship to the following States

  • Massachusetts
  • Firearms must be compliant will all laws of recieving jurisdiction

Transferring a firearm from Person to Person?

    1. We Will Need
    • The Firearm
    • Both parties at drop-off
  2. Our staff will transfer the firearm into our A+D Books
  3. Recieving Party Fills out ATF 4473 Firearms Transaction Record
      This includes a NICS (National Instant Criminal Search) background check

Class 3 (NFA) Items

The approval process for NFA items can be confusing! Let us help!

We have partnered with Silencer Shop to handle all your Class 3 (NFA) needs!

We keep devices pending approval on premises for your use on the range while you wait!

The Process

    1. Order your Suppressor or Short Barrel Rifle from SilencerShop.com
    • Set Texas Legends as your dealer
      • We can also accept Class 3 devices from any dealer
      • $100 NFA transfer fee applies on pickup after approval on ALL items purchased at other dealers
      • We will input item into SilencerShop's dashboard to streamline steps
      • We receive the device typically within 10-14 Days
      • Pending ATF Form 3 Approval
    2. Set up account with SilencerShop and the ATF's eForms portal
    • Use the same email address and same complete legal name for both accounts
  3. Come in Store to complete fingerprinting and paperwork at our SilencerShop kiosk
  4. Purchase $200 federal tax stamp from SilencerShop
  5. Your Form 4 is Prepared
    6. Certification of Form 4 over the phone with one of our NFA managers (ask for Noah or Robert)
    • Requires a desktop computer
    • ATF eForms login and 4 digit PIN
    • Access to email used for SilencerShop
  7. Your Form 4 is Submitted
  8. ATF approval period - averages 9-10 months
    9. You will receive an email from the ATF upon approval, come in store for final pickup!
    • Fill out a 4473 (Firearms Transaction Record)
  10. Take home your device! Bring it back to shoot with us!

  2. Our staff will transfer the firearm into our A+D Books
  3. Give it time to sell!
  4. Once sold, we issue a check picked up in store!
  • Firearms can be picked up, or prices adjusted at any time
  • For consignment return, owners will be required to complete an ATF 4473 Firearms Transaction Record
