Jose Primera
Academy Director
Academy director Jose Primera brings an impressive 36 years of law enforcement experience to our training programs, leveraging his extensive career as a Federal Training Instructor with the U.S. Department of Justice. Renowned for his specialization in NCIC/NLETS systems, Jose has trained countless agents, equipping them with critical skills in information management and operational security. His international footprint is equally remarkable, having led training missions in Jordan, Iraq, and Bosnia under the auspices of the DOJ and the United Nations, where he honed his ability to adapt law enforcement techniques to diverse global contexts.
CPT Greg Taggart
Instructor
With a passion for shooting sparked at age 6, CPT Greg Taggart brings decades of experience as a competitor in various disciplines to our training academy. A former Army Infantry officer and proud Texas Aggie, he blends military expertise with academic achievement, holding degrees in engineering and political science. As a certified instructor, Greg teaches an array of courses including License to Carry, handgun basics, private security, and school safety, providing both group and private instruction. Off the range, he pursues his interests as a gun law researcher and academic public policy analyst, enriching his teaching with a scholarly perspective.
Mike McLoughlin
Instructor
Mike brings unparalleled expertise to our academy, backed by an impressive 300 hours of specialized rifle and handgun training at the renowned Front Sight Firearms Training Institute. As a DPS Certified Instructor for Level III Security Officer, LTC, and School Safety, he possesses deep knowledge of security education, ensuring our programs are comprehensive, cutting-edge, and delivered with top-tier instruction. A true professional in firearms education, Mike holds an NRA certification as a pistol instructor alongside USCCA certifications in Concealed Carry, Home Defense, and Defensive Shooting Fundamentals.
